A golden thread of human centred design since 2010
For more than 10 years I’ve sought out roles which enable me to have an impact and improve experiences for real users. From Information architecture and wireframing, through to co-design and service design.

Organisational change in social care
Social Care Wales wanted to support their remit to improve the use of research and evidence in social care practice. I undertook a multi-faceted research and engagement process that enabled a comprehensive understanding of needs, priorities and best practice – informing the development of the client’s community platform and operating model.

A National learning offer for Local Government
After Covid-19 the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities were unable to provide in-person digital training and needed an interim solution. This research-driven approach allowed me to deeply understand needs, identify the optimal delivery mechanism, and implement the necessary systems for an effective interim training provision.

Closing a digital service
The National Leadership Center’s remit was to support a network of public service leaders to collaborate on some of the most pressing problems. Delivery on the ‘Connect’ service had slowed, uptake was low, and work needed to be reprioritised to ensure that the operational needs of the organisation were being supported and that the service was meeting the needs of users.

UX in Game design for an Advertising campaign
The creative team at M&C Saatchi were commissioned to deliver a safety campaign for Network Rail to raise awareness of the dangers of trespassing on the tracks. The team used binaural sound to demonstrate how difficult it is to hear the direction of oncoming trains. I needed to design the user experience for a game supporting this work

A Radical Vision of Future Government
Nesta put out a call for submissions on the subject of Radical Visions of Future Government. This concept, defined in context of waning trust in democracy and orther constraints meant that they were looking for views on how government might change. I lead a small group of volunteers to deliver a report, and two video submissions to this publication.
